in keeping with the nostalgic theme, 808's, RX's, capella's...
I remember them at Friday night drags at Calder here in Melb in the 80's, a noise the V8 lovers used to hate with a passion.....everyone knew them collectively as 'egg beaters' or 'rice burners'!
I had an 82 SII RX7 for 13 years sold it in show room condition....looking back now, rotaries were ahead of their time.

...and still are :)  We'll be in the process of looking for an '99-'02 RX7 for my OH eventually.  At the moment he is helping his father fix up his, my OH was almost born in it so there is sentimental attachment for both of them.

He actually wants a Cosmo but it's a little unrealistic, there are so few around and he keeps saying he'll put a 20B in his MX-6.

Hi All,

Wondered where most of you had gone..hope it wasnt something I said  :o

Well - in short - I am an African - born in Zambia and spent a long time in South Africa - migrated here with my family in 1999.
Im an Electrical Engineer and am at present on the new Tunnel team in Brisbane.

I developed a love for coffee and started slowly with some frustration at the mystery of coffee until I read an article on a Copffee ceremony in Ethiopia - started roasting my own beans in a pan, a neighbour gave me a Popcorn machine which I modified over several years - am now the owner of a Hottop and while I am pleased I still remember the excitement of popper roasting..

I prefer stove top espresso and ama sucker for new ways to brew coffee.

All for now,

Regards,

Ditto!  This forum has a really nice feel and I'm looking forward to your posts. Incidentally my mate who runs Underground Opera operates one of those big borers in your Tunnel. I've seen the way he navigates and drives so AM better keep half an eye on that deck he's mentioned!

I live in Adelaide, its a overgrown country town and a bit backwards. More good coffee shops would good but i reckon over the next few years there will be. Lets hope-so.

Current fav drink - ristretto.

Hi all.

Welcome to Crema AC, the friendly forum ;) Your right Adelaide is a lot less frantic than Melb or Sydney, a good thing as far as I'm concerned, Adelaide is a delight to navigate. ;D

Welcome along :) Adelaide has come a long way from closing down at 12 on a Saturday but still a long way to go. The coffee scene these days at least has a few good people getting in and making some noise and putting up some better coffees than it used to have a couple of years ago.

At least for you guys you can jump a plane and be in Melbourne quicker than I can if you need a good coffee fix   >:D

Hi AM,
I have a dozen bags of Andy's beans and a Behmor that gets put on the bench every Saturday so I guess I can now boast that it's real coffee.

Reg process a bit interesting (read long- really no biggie though) but hey, as forum owners we do what we have to do...

Since when have we become a dating site  ;D

"...walks on the beach..."

You do realise that this is the most written sentence in dating profiles the world over don't you  :P

I own a forum for fish hobbyists (tropheusfanatics) and another one that is just about dead and buried, also related to fish hence my comments on the auto-welcome and reg process etc I do similarly myself....

The TK cups look very nice, I had them in my cart a few times over the last couple of days but can't settle on a color/ colors. Anyway, yeah I realised this wasn't a dating site as no one asked for my credit card during sign up but joined anyway :P

Fishing, coffee, beach, doesn't get much better than that
A bit nostalgic of it all as I was an ex beach fisherman and lived in Newcastle

I also kept marine fish in my younger days very successfully, still have my shell grit & coral in case I get back into it

Now I just have a fresh water aquarium and populated with goldfish

Hello, I stumbled across this forum while searching for something on the net, read a few posts, enjoyed what I was reading, enjoyed the relaxed environment and decided to sign up. Mmmm... not really sure what to say...Well, Ok I was born and raised in Calgary, Canada and went to U of C where I graduated with a B.Ed. I taught for a couple of years, decided it wasn't really for me and went back and picked up a M.Ed in Educational Technology/Instructional Design. I worked for a software company developing training courseware for a few years and then had an opportunity to relocate to Australia in 1994. I worked at the Division of Distance Education at Central Queensland University for 2 years developing courseware for the uni and the coal mining industry. I met my wife-to-be while travelling in North Qld (Magnetic Island) and have pretty well been in Australia ever since. I was coerced into working for the in-laws structural engineering firm in Townsville and have been doing so for the past 13 years as a IT/WH&S/QA/HR/whatever Manager. I spent 5 years living on Magnetic Island and commuted by ferry to town each day for work, but eventually settled on the mainland. Have had an espresso machine(s) for about 20 years, but became more picky about producing a decent cup about 3>4 years ago when I became a member of CS. Enjoy home roasting and recently upgraded my Corretto to a 1kg Akaneks. A big thanks goes to member Vinitasse for all of his assistance. Besides roasting coffee I am an avid kite surfer (although not for the past 14 months because of injury... :'(). Also enjoy running, swimming, trekking, skiing, travelling and drinking too much nice wine. Ron
