Filtered espresso???
« on: 09/03/2004, 08:27 PM »
Hi guys - take a look at the 'Good Living' section of today's Sydney Morning Herald; food and coffee connoisseur Terry Durack (yes, one of those famous 'foodie' writers) gives his opinion of 40 'foodie' things you should do before you're 40.

One of them is 'how to make perfect espresso coffee'. According to mr 'guru' Durack, you should:

buy a stove-top 'Napoletana'. Unscrew the bottom half and fill with cold water. Set the coffee basket into the base, fill it with freshly ground coffee, then screw the collection chamber on top. Place over medium heat, When the pressure builds, the hot water is forced through the coffee and up into the collection chamber, ready for pouring - what an idiot!!!

Careful Lars,

you'll end up having to explain the difference between a "moka" and a "napoletana" if you're not careful!

This bloke is a Guru you say?
