After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Following comments about becoming tree hugging hippies the other day, I went to our local library and got a couple of issues of grass roots magazine.
Here is one of their great money saving environmentally friendly ideas.

Don't throw old men's socks away when they develop holes in the feet.
Cut them off at the ankle. You can give them to your wife or partner and, when pruning, she can pull them up her arms to prevent scratches.

That's my Christmas list sorted.  :thumb:

  • Believe it or not I have done exactly that, but normaly don't wait for holes to develop It also works well when using wool socks under welding gloves KK
  • Oh that is gold!  Christmas at the UMN house may end up on funniest home videos.  I've heard some beauties over the years but one of my favourite camping tips as a kid was to not use aeroguard or any of those toxic insect coils but instead throw dried cow dung on the fire.  It sure kept the mozzies away.... As well as the humans!
