After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Last week while on a toilet break,i got back to my espresso machine just in time to find my fellow waiter manall so happy that he got to make his first Eccochino when i asked him how he went about it he said.....WEll i just got the tin of ecco opend it and the i packed it nice and tight into
YOUR GROUP BASKET AAAAHHHHH*&^%$% i nearly killed him and to make things worse i had to look at the crime scene..see you OE

  • Eccochino = coffee substitute made from chicory. It's supposed to be made like instant then have steamed milk added so it can pose as coffee.

  • heeheehee ... actually, she tried being trendy and ordered a chai latte recently. She actually liked it (tastes like 10 sugars with milk to me). We then went to a friends place and made proper chai tea (with all the spices, mint, ginger etc), which was much spicier - she likes it, but can't get past a good old hot choccie.
  • wait until someone asks for a decaf ecchocino. just tell them to have a game of hide and go %^&* yourself. its painful to still see so many people substituting things for the real deal. if u cant have coffee, dont order a knock off. luke oh yeah, that ecco stuff is nasty!!!!!!!

  • We make ecco chinos regularly down here in groovy, Penguin, Tasmania.  It took ages to get it even near right. Two teaspoons of ecco in a espresso cup add enough water to make a coffee shot then whisk madly with a mini wisk you can get an approximation of a shot with a cinnamon crema.  Dump it in a cap cup and proceed as usual.  We dust it with cinnamon.

    I know it sounds crazy but the guy said he loved it.   Choc / chai lattes are also a big hit. ACG
  • i reckon there is going to be a massive market in sugar syrup... times are a changing i say! barista: "heres your cup of hot water/milk with 100g of sugar, you will find additional raw sugar on the table sir" customer: "oh if i could have extra chocolate on top and a side serve of honey" oh i should have kept that idea secret, someones going to make millions  :'(

I think starbucks and gloria jeans cashed in on your idea a decade ago... don't you reckon that chai is the new 'coffee'? they're even branching out into chocolate chai, caramel chai, vanilla chai, hazelnut chai ... tastes nothing like the real thing! I wonder when unadulterated espresso (no milk, no sugar, nothing but a shot of espresso in a demitasse) will become trendy. It'll be good for a week, then you'll start seeing the crappy chocco-presso, vanilla-presso crap coming out. I guess it's part and parcel of living in a nation addicted to sugar. no wonder we're all diabetic.
  • This whole chai thing is really strange, I was under the impression Chai was a spice mix that was used with tea originated in India/asia when Buddha was a boy, then you see chai bloody everything out there . Sounds like its been turned into the next trendy fad. Here's a quote straight of a "Nerada" chai tea box "Chai is the word for'Tea'in many parts of the world. So now it must mean "put into anything for more profit" why must things be adulterated and screwed up, I cant wait for the chai yogurt and flavoured tooth paste to come out. Hey matty how would we have the biggest loser and all those fat tv shows with out the sugar  ;D
