After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

slow week???

Howdy all,

Trade for me this past week has been significantly slow - sales down about 30-35%.  More so in coffee than food.  I've been checking & re-checking everything like an obsessive-compulsive!  Yes, food's not mouldy ... yes, my shots are consistent and don't taste like stale motor oil, and the aftershave I wear is only a bit offensive.  No new competition, no complaints.

So, why is it so???  Is anyone else out there experiencing something similar this week?

My only guess is that the dreaded winter flu virus is striking my regulars down lately, sapping them of any energy or desire to lift a coffee to their lips.

Any thoughts out there, 'cause I'm not usually the paranoid type! :-?

Thanks,
Tony

  • Before I even read your flu theory comment, that's what I had in mind, I haven't had a decent coffee for 6 days coz of this damned wog.
  • Hey flatwhite ... have you checked your messages?  I shot you an e-mail not long ago.
  • put it down to un-seasonal weather i too get quiet concerned if the numbers are down for any reason - but then more often than not we have a bumper week the following week, which throws most of my theories about why its been quiet out the door Pat
  • Well, my retail coffee sales have been up 80% over the last 3 weeks so maybe everyone is making coffee at home.
  • you gotta be happy with that! also - don't know about the temperature up north but its been fricken freezing down here - which make you wanna drink more at home just to stay warm!
