After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

yup - that seems to have done the trick. Two days later and my coffee is still pouring perfectly - crema n all Sorry about all the posts guys, but the problem was a pain and I was desperate. I really didn't want to buy another machine so I thought I would just make an arrogant post, in the hopes that someone would refute my claims and get to the solution real fast. Never mind, we got there in the end - and for any newbie visitors to the site in search of a solution to the very same problem, the cleaning product I use for my filter baskets is called Caldo Caffee - Premium Espresso Machine Cleaner. The only thing I do differently is place a little powder in the bottom of the filter basket and run water through it from the coffee machine. It seems to work a treat.
It was a pleasure Let's hope others will also find benefit as well KK
  • By the way Kosmo, that was a good run down on the second skin on the coffee filter. It makes even more sense why I was having the problem I was. I guess it's the maker's way of ensuring the best result from their cheaper products.
