After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

AASCA -Coffee Association

Hi there
The AASCA AGM was held this week and a number of new persons have come on to the committee (including myself). The new committee is keen to become more active in the coffee scene. There are a bunch of barista competitions coming up across Australia starting with NT (Alice Springs) on March 5. To view the dates check out the aasca.com website.
I decided to get involved as I strongly believe that the industry needs 'a voice'. Hopefully AASCA can become that 'voice'. Also, over the coming months AASCA will become more active in the local scene.
Will keep you posted.
John

  • I wonder if AASCA would be keen on some sort of "home roasting competitions." Blind cuppings and judgings. Maybe the winner would get some sort of contract for their roast at a major roaster. You see barista championships for the service side of the coffee industry, but nothing about roasters.  Might create some innovation and stir up interest in the back room of the coffee industry.
