After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Coffee standard improving.

There has been a lot written about the difficulty of getting a decent coffee in rural area's.
When we moved to the Copper Triangle area of SA just over three years ago this was certainly the case, however in the past three years things have certainly taken a turn for the better, now we have at least three cafe's serving very good coffee within a few kilometres of home and I'm sure there must be others I have yet to discover. ;D
Of course there are still the greasy spoon establishments serving swill, and I doubt that will ever change. :(

  • I've been most impressed with several cafes on my recent travels serving amazing coffee - notably Vintage Espresso in Bellingen, and Colin James Fine Foods in Makeny - these cafes are serving world class coffee with the one in Maleny especially a 40min drive inland from the coast - now that's dedication!
  • did a bit of a drive from Byron [through Bellingen] and down to Coffs Harbour mid last year, and was pleasantly surprised... except for Byron which I found extremely disappointing, and not just for the crap coffee...
