After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

moving house - take coffee machine first or last!

Help! I'm moving last and cant decide whether to pack my coffee machine immediately so that I'm all sorted when I get to my destination, or whether I should hold onto it so that I can fuel both myself and the removalists!

  • true dat but I'm finding that I need my caffeine fix every single minute of the day at the moment!
  • ;D Part way through the same exercise this week. Left the Zass and the Cloth dripper at the old house for morning brews. 3 grp lever at work through the day and the Pavoni is sitting on the new houses bench waiting to help with unloading and unpacking. Sounds to me like you need more toys  ::)
  • Move it first and survive on cold press, I think it is best for moving when you get a bit hot and bothered anyway. Brett
  • Just started a ice drip going in the beer fridge (next to the beer) at the new place. Starting to feel like home now coffee, beer......

mate you're fully sorted! I had more toys but we've moved so many times recently that I can remember who I lent them out too! I do have clever coffee dripper and a syphon though - so maybe its time to get them cranking speaking of which kicked off the day with a blend of columbian versalle hula, kenyan kinchwa tebo, sumatran wahana, and png sigri - all in all not a bad way to get things going! P
  • ps cool beverages are in the fridge :)

And i had to slum it with a simple Yirg  this morning :) If I had planned better and could be bothered I could have put the Fioranzato at the new place (lots of bench space) and left the Pav at the old one. Off to move some boxes and leave the staff in charge of the shop.
  • Sort of completed the move, new place has a drinking water and tank instead of the local 800mg/l bore water. Still no R/O setup yet so try the tank in a Syphon. Tank water this close to the coast collects salts off the roof too  :P. R/O water from the shop now at home again  :)
  • Just finished cleaning the old place from top to bottom now to tidy up the garden and pull out the veggie patch - as a side note had two dissapointing coffees today at so-called reputable cafes: all the more reason to get cracking on the home roast!!!
