After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

I'm new here...

  • Hi to All, Steve here from a very hot Adelaide.... I have joined this great forum in search of any advise, feedback etc as we have just launched a capsule machine into the Australian market. As sole distributors we need to understand where the coffee market is heading, how to get the best reach to the consumer and any tips around articles and content. We have cafe owners in our business, a distribution base specializing in predominately Italian food and a willingness to learn. Would be great to hear from anyone and look forward to being an active member. Cheers
  • Hi Steve and welcome! We’re grateful to you for joining us and look forward to your contribution. Remember however, if you want to spruik your business you have to become a sponsor. Welcome mate!
  • I'm not that new here really but mostly lurking... this is one of my first posts, been too darn busy soaking up info til now, lol! Finally starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere so can spare the energy to join in. Really appreciate the two Oz forums especially, as I feel that H-B although great is dealing with what amounts to an alternate reality where everybody seems to be punting La Marzoccos, KVW's or Slayers with a Mahlkonig k43/k30 as the median and an Atom the lower bar for grinders.....ok maybe a bit of hyperbole but not quite personally relevant unless I win Gold Lotto. I'd like to say thanks for all the cool data and hope I can contribute something going forward
  • Welcome to our forum We don’t judge on what machine you have It’s all about the end result in the cup that matters KK
  • Welcome Kjarsheim! Hope you enjoy the forums here :)
  • Welcome mate! Get posting... it’s really quiet otherwise.
  • Hi All - new here thought I'd better introduce myself. From Brisbane but currently living in Vienna the last four years (you would be surprised how terrible the coffee skills in cafes are here, grind, tamp pressure, pour time, it's a complete mystery. Forget coffee art, too). Long time amateur barista, have had a low level DeLonghi grinder and machine for several years, finally thought I better up my game and buy a decent set of kit. (Still deciding on machine, but have bought a Ceado E6P grinder). As a mechanical engineer, it got my tick of approval for the insides. Proud to say I have taught myself over the years how to do a little bit of coffee art. My favorite bean is Campos, the superior blend mix. I know some hate this bean, but I really enjoy the syrupy smooth after taste of this bean in the mouth. Problem is they won't post to Vienna, so I have to rely on visiting friends and bringing some back myself. Drink of choice is a flat white or a cap (no chocolate, no sugar).  Cheers
  • Welcome Bain! Great to have you on our Aussie forum. Your grinder post was brilliant and I’m looking forward to seeing what machine makes it onto your bench!

roastings not hard work once you get in the routine of it - you could always find out whats in the Campos blend and then reverse engineer it! Pat

Photos for help identifying brands and models and histories and worth, etc. in the projects and rebuilds thread new machine to move on in the classifieds once post count is up. Cheers John

  • Hello! I'm an aspiring roaster:) I won't be doing anything commercial for now until I find my sweet spot with different beans. But I do hope to get lots of advice! Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
  • Oh what are you roasting on at the moment? I've got a couple of behmor plus roasters at home so in theory I can roast 1kg at a time - which I do from time to time but mostly I only use them individually...
