After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
As an avid viewer of this site. I am glad to see/hear a voice cut through the battle haze. Although I believe that passionate debate should not be disuaded. Agressive ego fuled attacks, and typing with deaf ears, really aren't a way to achieve knolwedge sharing. After all, coffee fans of all levels view and post on this forum, so one must always keep ego in check when preparing to conceed or condemn. All information is valid, if posters can improve or enhance, or simply re-direct. I'm sure we will all very much enjoy this forum. Passionate debate = Good. Monkey Poo Fight = Bad
I can't agree more. Everyone should feel comfortable enough to voice their opinion (as long as it doesn't include even any subtle swipe at another), ask questions etc. We were all new to coffee once and I'm not sure anyone can claim that they've got nothing new to learn. That's why I decided to come back here after a few years off (need to renew my knowledge ) Also through helping newbies (like me !), it's an opportunity for the 'teachers' to do a stocktake of their own knowledge too. It's often through teaching others that we realise where we have gaps in our own knowledge. OK...going to stop before I write a thesis....
