After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

How do you access the forum?

Just out of interest I was wondering how everyone access the forum especially now that we have internet connected consoles, TVs, phones etc.

I use my PC/Mac mostly with Internode ADSL (on a bloody congested RIM but that's another matter) and also use my iPhone with WiFi and 3G.  The phone is handy for checking out the latest, but I find it far to fidly to post longer posts with photos etc.

My gut feeling is that its the forum software and its parameters or available settings The Crema forum software will eventually get updated or upgraded to a new type & look that has all the features needed for all current devices But that's at Admin's pace - He also has a magazine to run. KK
  • Good old fashioned laptop or pc's running xp for me so no problems ;D There is some plans afoot for some further changes but as KK mentions A has a mag to get to print very soon. There has been an upgrade to the SMF software but not sure if that will address the 'I' issues.
  • Not having major issues with the idevices, it's more typing on the screen letter by letter (I touch type on the keyboard) and the fact that the photo bucket app doesn't off the forum links like the web based version :( I was just interested in how others use the internet really.  Much prefer a PC/Mac myself but I like the idevice for catching up while mobile or relaxing on the couch. :)
  • I am sort of looking at a new phone at the minute for much the same things. Check the weather (kite, bike and model plane/heli essential), browse emails and respond to urgent ones and to be able read the net more than type an essay on. The Laptop I have is nice and small but still to big to carry around on a longer trip especially if I am on the pushy.
  • Normally on a mac running safari, but on an android phone during the day via 3g.
  • Mostly on my iPhone it allows me to juggle kids and the cafe - don't often get time to sit down and work on my iMac
