Hi mate - would try smaller. local roasters: Campos [Newtown] Danes [Brookvale] The Coffee Roaster [Botany] Toby's Estate [Woolloomooloo] - a bit expensive Voodoo [Chippendale] Check out price of each and get a feeling for service; how often they would deliver, etc -dR

Add to that Neoma Single Origin Allpress Espresso Espresso Fiori Golden Cobra Morgans Numero Uno Paul Basset (blend) Tried all of the above coffees and found them good. worth also considering service (especially training) and positioning of their brands for your cafe.

actually mr N. - agree with some of your additions, but not all. Morgans is brilliant, and Dean is a really nice guy [which helps in this industry] Golden Cobra is roasted by Campos previous roaster, so should be good Allpress is now pretty big - not so much of a 'boutique' any more. Paul Bassett is roasted by Rio in Adelaide, which kind of goes against the local thing. It's actually OK, so long has you like the heavy Rio roast profile Numero Uni is good as long as it is still contract roasted by Dean [ie Morgans, above]. No comment about Single O, Neoma or Espresso Fiori. -dR

Yeah was familiar with all that. Single O roast their own, do custom blends. Neoma - own blend contract roasted, in the process of moving to roast his own Espresso Fiori - own blend contract roasted

Numero Uni is good as long as it is still contract roasted by Dean [ie Morgans, above].

Numero Uno's coffee is still roasted by Dean & they have not released anything to the contrary (post starting with Dean) so i dont think that it can be implied that it is only good as long as Dean still roasts it. If they produce a blend that is not roasted by Dean and it is not up to scratch then you are definitely entitled to that opinion Looking forward to trying some of the Golden Cobra, heard good things but tasted no things yet!

Hi Tommy - not really sure of your point; all I'm trying to say is that Dean is one of the best boutique roasters in Sydney... and if N.U.'s using him, that's got to be a good thing for them. Mr N. - actually I know who Single O. are - I guess  my only question there is whether they're actually as good as the PR spin they've created. -A
