I've yet to find the sweet spot for the wand in the jug when frothing. I've tried just off centre, wand on the edge with jug tilted till milk is nearly over the edge, and a few other random settings. I'm using the standard 500ml jug that comes with em6910 and i also bought a incasa 18/8. Would buying a 'better', more expensive jug, help to produce a better result? How has your experience been with frothing milk? Currently got/using paris creek milk in the fridge. #adelaide

I have made what I feel is a huge advancement. Thanks to Muscles and his generous off of a 22g Synesso basket.  22 grams, I think is just a little too fine, almost 60ml in 30 seconds. The taste, the way I would describe it is smooth and rounded.

I just have to say this: WOOHOO!!! For people that have this combo, the EM6910 and the EM0480, get a synesso basket, you won't regret it. As everyone knows the grinder has been driving me nuts, then it clicked, Muscles said use a slightly finer grind, that is all I can get out of the grinder anyway, sooooooooooo I thought I'll give it a go, one sink shot later and holy cow, thick, dark brown crema, granted 60ml in 20 seconds so maybe might be able to go finer again but the outcome tastes great

Thank you AM Question for people.  The new EM6910 comes with just a double spout and no indication that it can be taken off.  I've noticed that there is a coffee colour around the join.  Has anyone else been able to take the double spout off, we have tried and it seems to twist in a small direction both ways but then appears that it would need to pop out, or something, obviously I don't want to damage the portafilter but I'm just imagining the crap that might be between the two.

I'm always interested in the difference that such a small amount of ground coffee makes. I'm using the 22 gram Synesso basket with the Spong. If I put 22 grams in, I knock it down half way then put the rest in, tamp, I tend to get the extraction sitting at 12:00 or just after, which is fine, dark, syrupy flow. I changed the amount and what I did tonight to see what would happen.  I put 21.6 grams in, I just piled the grind in without knocking it down until I tamped.  The result was 11:00 and although still slightly syrupy the flow was light. Interesting though below is what happens when it settles, I still think it looks good, it's the Harrar/Rononi blend that I did.

Not that good AM, I don't think the blend worked, it's ok but not as smooth and sweet as the original blend I did.  My OH seems to like it, although I have to say, when I make his coffee it's always fantastic, my own, I don't know what goes wrong  ???  ;D

Huston we have a problem, who can guess what it is and can tell me what the solution is, it's only happened since I've put the temperature up!

I'll go and turn on the hot tap, ok at least 250ml through the hot water tap and not a drip from the group. I have the parts manual and yes I understand I'll wait for it to cool down and go and have a look. Definitely haven't cleaned it but yes we did take out the shower screens and seal at the same time, checking everything. Shot wasn't really bitter but it wasn't all that good either.

You want crap in there, wait until you see the first lot of photos!!! Hello AM et al, A question if I may RE the EM6910 steam wand.  I'm finding the attached 'holder' for it (the plastic thing that allows you to move it when hot) keeps sliding down when I'm steaming.  Do you think a rubber sleeve would work?  I'm not around the machine at the moment but I'm assuming a 10mm sleeve would fit?

Hi all, I just hijack this topic to confirm my question. Because I just bought the VST basket from "Muscles", now I am thinking a naked portafilter to go with it for EM6910. After search around, it seems like no other 3rd party PF can fit unless Sunbeam's factory one. If its true, then the naked PF is pretty expensive. (120 from Sunbeam, 80+postage from eBay and 120 from Pullman). Anyone has other solution? I did not want to modify mine old one into naked one. Because every now and then I still brew double shot for friend to save time. (lazy me). Cheers Colin

Normally when I turn on my EM6910 from cold, to begin with it makes a few noises with steam and water coming out through the drip try - I assume some kind of flush? Recently, for whatever reason, it hasn't been doing this.  Any ideas as to why!?  I'm just doing a clean now to see whether that fixes it??
