After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Personally I think the really dark timbers work well with the BDB's, such as Wenge/Ebony. I don't think redder timbers work as well with the breville for some reason.

RM: The Wenge like the unit for M: is OK to turn, but due to the different grains and depth a pain to get a great finish. RM: The Ebony I have is pure black. Heavy and feels great but just looks like a standard plastic handle and is a bugger to turn.
Got any darker Oak? That would look good....or maybe unfinished blanks aren't available because it isn't really grown in Australia? Jacaranda wood maybe?
  • Nup... Bein as it is that I'm from Tarnsville I reckon Mango's the shot.  Nice and glossy with silvery tones on occasion.  Go for bling as a contrast the the sedate 'matter of fact' look of the machine.
  • AM: Thought this would have been on it's way back already  :stir  >:D  SMASH IT UP!
  • AM will be on their way on Monday.

M: Will do tonight.. Then matching Wengi can be finished and polished.. M: Question. What was the final length of that handle.. This one here could be a tad longer and would like to have close.. Post or PM me...
Awesome, cheers! Total length is 140mm.....
  • AM, stuffed around with some F14 forrest red today. Retains a lot more colour than the iron bark I gave KK and is no where near as hard. Could be a go if KK's stuff is too hard.
