After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Hi all,
New here, but hoping someone can help. I've got a San Marino single group machine that's a bit old, but works fine. Except I'm having a problem with it. I'm using a 16g basket, and I think my grind is right, but when I pour, I get a nice slow, smooth start but only for about ten seconds, after which the pour becomes spluttery and messy. Probably a bit watery at that point too. Overall, the shot is thick and tastes great. But it's not how it should look, and not how it should pour. But I'm at a loss. I did take a short video of what I'm talking about, and you can download here if you want:

But even at the start of that video it was pouring too fast - I've fixed the grind now, so it does come out slower and smoother at the start than in that vid. Although the very beginning does often have a rush. Any ideas why this is happening? It's driving me crazy...
