New Machine

Hi Everyone.
Well, I did it. Bit the bullet and bought a Isomac Millenium.
Talk about a kid with a new toy. Mind you i tend to get excited with any new purchase and this is no exception. New fishing gear, golf club, amplifier, you know what I mean?
It looks great.
Its my first machine of this type in this price range and whilst it's not the top of the range it's a step up from previous machines I've used. I won't get my hands on it until tomorrow and I cant wait to start belting out coffee after coffee.
I have to admit I was blown away by the number of machines that exist out there and in the end my decision was influenced by information obtained here, other sites and sadly cost.
(BTW, thanks heaps to all of you out there who have taken the time to post information on this forum. You cant beat getting it from the horses mouth.)
Cost in actual fact was a major factor. My wife (Kylie) threatened me with all sorts of stuff if i exceeded the budget we had agreed to.
Anyway, I'm going to put it to the test over the weekend and i'll let you know how it performs.

Sorry about the delay but here it is. Bought it in Perth after visiting the store a week ago. Great friendly staff, very knowledgable and accommodating. I think I got a good deal and now the fun begins. The grinder is still a couple of weeks away. I will need to also research this item because I now realise the grinder is probably more important than the coffee maker itself. I had no idea about the mantra until the weekend and how true it is. Suffice to say I have a way to go before I get it right but you know what they say about practice.I never thought I would get this excited about a new toy but how can you stay calm when something is this shiny? I'll keep you posted on the grinder. One thing though: The steaming wand has so much grunt compared to what I'm used to. To get a really nice froth should I be opening the valve all the way or part of the way? Cheers

that's one great looking machine - and more importantly... how does the coffee taste? are you doing a manual pre-infusion with the lever? P

I have to be honest. Coffee is 4/10 so plenty of room for improvement. Yes. Pre infusion done manually which is no problem.
