With the demand for machines and coffee, is it coming back to manual and commercial systems Vs Automatics at all levels ?

Cheap Chinese manufactured machines are capturing the growth in many developing coffee markets - especially pod/capsule appliances. History is littered with many sad and unfortunate tales in every area of product manufacturing as brands fade and die off - ironically most did'nt deserve to lose their place and perhaps many had some fine, advanced or reliable technology. The savage law of the business jungle takes it's toll on bad management (financial, marketing, engineering, distribution, etc.). Working at HP for many years, one of the best quotes I've ever heard came from Lew Platt (CEO in the 90's) "You must be prepared to cannibalize your best products". Europe manufacturing is in an awful slide to a future oblivion, except for very specialized and niche products - as painful as it is to witness such things.
