After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Terra Mugs Landed

edited January 1970 in Accessories
Hi All

A short process to access these Terra mugs from Artazza in the states.  A couple of emails over a week as they normally dont ship outside of USA due to cost. This saw myself place an order for a minimum of 200 USD and that translated to 70USD for postage.  So via paypal, all was completed and outlay around 305 AUD for 8 mugs..... Must say Artazza were great via email, kept me up to date of USP progress (Customs from USA and even told when they cleared AUS customs...).

Here is the contents of the package:

  • Very nice  :thumb: :thumb: (that's 2 thumbs up) I have recently had the misfortune to break several of my everyday cups Leaving me short So I will be out looking for a new set of 12 cafe style KK
  • Wow!  Really nice but the price is certainly 'up there!' are they dishwasher safe?
  • Apparently Brett they are according to Terra. But I wont risk it, I'll threat them like my Riedel wine glasses, hand washed  ;)

I dishwash my Reidel's. Come out sparkling clean. Too much risk of breaking one in the sink - more so than in the dishwasher I reckon.
  • My dishwasher took all the trim off my tk's and even handwashing with soft sponge managed to remove small amounts so I would be careful. Also of more, when trim is gone you will see that the color underneath has not been finished well at all... I'll upload some pics on the weekend.

I only have cheap luigi bormioli  wine/beer glasses (like $5 for four). Only glasses that get hand washed are the Edinburgh crystal whisky glasses - a leaving present from a company a long time ago in a country far far away. Not had any problems with dishwashers and glassware. I had heard the TKs trim quality was a bit iffy, one reason I won't be buying any. I'll stick with self-coloured that should be more robust.

Wow... Given the cost of these lovely cups/mugs that is disappointing but valuable information to people who own or are considering owning these.  Photos would be great!
  • Should have added this to my post above: Congrats Jonty, they look great! I hope my comment hasn't detracted from your excitement, that wasn't my intention. I may have got a bad batch of these or maybe the deteregent I use is too strong or maybe my water too hot... not sure either way. Bottom line, they are beautiful, be careful (more careful than the wife and I were) and they should serve you well - well, I hope they do anyway. I'll post pics on Saturday
  • ...going on Muscles advice when I got mine, I don't use hot hot water, more on the side of warm hot with a soft brush thing and I rinse them and dry them straight away, so far so good.
