repairing my sunbeam em 4800c

Hi, I'm new here and suffering withdrawals as I managed I think to burn out my little sunbeam EM4800C motor.  At least I think that's what happened after I ran it too long without the water flowing thru!

I would be grateful for any tips re repairs. Is it easy to open up, is it likely to be the wiring only or also the pcb bit? best place to get parts, Hate to toss it away if it is simple?

It still makes a wirring sound but not the same!

OK, thanks for that, yes they charge to just have a look so maybe better to go new!

What symptoms you getting and how did they come about? It presumably was working. did it stop mid pour, or when you switched it on in the morning, or...? They don't got a motor as such, but a vibe pump, thermoblock, controller and various bits and bobs. If just a pump, might be repairable. If a thermostat, definitely repairable. Does it heat up? Does it pump any water at all? Try with no group/filter handle in place. Whereabouts are you?

Hey sounds like you know your machine! It packed up when i was trying to make a coffee, (not steam) and I probably ran it too long without water coming thru! I had already made a couple of coffees. Maybe the water container wasn't pushed down enough. Or for some reason water wasn't running thru. now it only makes a low constant wining sound when I switch it to coffee mode. No water comes through. It does heat up. When I switch it to steam mode it makes a regular click click click sound only. Thats about all I can say. Many Thanks

unplug it then undo the 4 screws holding  the group head collar on then put the plastic collar in a bag and post it to me. cheers!
