After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Apparently I'm not drinking enough coffee to keep me from dying according to the "latest" research.  Don't you just love the scientists researchers !

............

Not only will your morning java make you live longer, but according to research from the US National Cancer Institute, you should be lining up around six cups per day.

The benefits were found to be so broad that drinking more coffee is now said to reduce the risk of death by not only natural causes, but also accident and injury.

Can't see how that could possibly be true. The risk of death is 100% always has been, always will be. Unm, chief pedant in residence.
  • One of my favourite daily read blogs, BoingBoing.net, is currently bereft of their science editor so couldn't provide their usual critical overview, but put it like this instead: "I think what they're trying to tell us is that while drinking coffee does not necessarily cause you to live longer, it is associated with the opposite of dying sooner. "
  • I just drink it coz it tastes good... well, it does when I make it, anyway!
