After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

EM6910 pump starts automatically

Hi guys,

Well this morning I made one coffee, ran out of water and during the refill the machine started going crazy, solid red light on the program button, started pumping on and off and making strange sounds....

I unplugged it and waited a few hours, then turned it back on at the wall, straight away the pump starts, so I waited, and it kept pumping, I hit the power button (still pumping) and it flashed green and then all the lights came on as per normal (still pumping) steam and hw work fine.

I've google it and read some stuff about the triacs but I'm wondering is that the problem? is the a picture or how to on which one to change? And where can I get one?

  • And the ultimate Question.  Is it still in warranty??
  • No warranty, it's fix it or throw it with this old girl. My brother is the licensed electrician your honour. He done all the work. I'm in the home of quality water.  Perth. Anyway, fearing the worst, no Monday morning coffee... I took off every panel I could, attacked it with a can of contact cleaner, a little blast of air and bob's your uncle. It lives again, but for how long....
