After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Sunbeam EM6910 - error on startup
I went to make my usual coffee this morning and my beloved machine completely spat the dummy!
It was doing the normal start-up thing, flashing green power light and then insead of all the lights then illuminating indicating that it was ready, the power light turned red (not flashing) and the pump started sending water through the group head. I did a factory reset to no avail. And tried switching it on and off several times.
I replaced the microswitches for both the steamer wand and hot water dispenser yesterday and made several cups of coffee since. Everything was working fine until I switched it on this morning.
Is it possible that it is the PCB behind the switches that is the problem? Maybe I damaged it? Or could it be something else?
I can buy the PCB relatively cheaply and replace it but I don't want to do this if there is a possibility of it being something else. I don't want to take it to a repairer to diagnose just yet, as it's a $50 charge before they even open the thing up!
