Update Using Lacehim's  18gr dose and the pour is good, got some Clandistino beans and chocked it so I opened up the grind a fair bit, perfect pours but shocking taste like typical cafe' dirty machine taste.  Coffee parts came and I blind  flushed  it within and inch of it's life!    and then some! changed the seal and new shower screen also switched handles because all the chrome was gone on the one they were using for the double basket and the one that had the single was never used so I stuck the double basket in it. This morning I got lovely "tiger striping" for the first half of the pour, then it blonds but the taste is really good now.  I would imagine if the OPV was set it would not blonde as soon and a better basket would be better maybe. I also got a 2 hole steam tip instead of the 3 hole and the small jug Lacehim recommended,  much better results with the milk now. Went to Pioneer today and got some more beans. enjoying the journey, thanks for all the help.

I am thinking mods. naked handle OPV setting- AM says it comes standard at 12 bar and I am sure no one would have set it yet. maybe the Brew bar pressure gauge from the SB too

Nice. I used to own an S26 2 group machine which a mate still uses weekly. I always find it harder to get a great shot out of than my current lever but for the price you can't complain. Mine cost $250 at a local auction. I went there for months until I found a machine that looked in good nick and then ended up being the only bidder.

So how did you go reducing the OPV from 12bar to 9?  And more importantly was there a difference in the cup?

I haven't done it yet, seems to be some controversy on how to do it, either adjust the check valve or rebuild the OPV with an extra washer or just plumb my adjustable one in of the old SB Anyway the coffee is really good now, so there is no rush.

I was lucky. All mine needed was a descale and a service which I did after ordering the bits from coffeeparts.

this is the factory set 12 bar OPV I have taken it apart and will add some copper washers if I can find them to lower the pressure. part 35 is a copper washer and the thickness of the washer (or washers) determines the spring pre-load and thus the opening pressure. In a sense its not adjustable like the modern machines but it can be tweaked. I bit hit and miss
