Bang - Bang - Bang

I'm feeling creative and would like to make a bang box. I'm creative and quite handy.

Anyone got a plan?

Not so much a plan, but a reasonable idea of how to go about it. Go to a hardware store and buy the following - length of PVC pipe (4-5 inch dia) w/threaded end - a screw-on cap to fit - a piece of wood dowel as the "bang" (~1 inch dia) - a piece of rubber to cover the wood (optional, 1 inch internal dia) - large split pin/cotter pin - concrete/plaster o' paris or similar Drill two pilot holes in the side of the pipe, then use a coping saw to open them up to the right size (or use a hole saw if you've got one). Take your coping saw and cut the groovy wave shape into the front of it.  Smooth off all your cuts/holes with a file. Take the screw cap and screw it onto the bottom of the pipe (opposite end to the bang).  I figure the best thing to do here is to put a couple of screws through the side of the cap so that they protrude into the tube.  Pour in some concrete mix into the bottom (the screws will stop the concrete block from just sliding back out when you go to empty the pucks. Take your piece of dowel and pass it through the two guide holes.  On one end, leave maybe 1-2cm of protrusion, this is the end that the split pin will go into.  At the other end, leave a larger protrusion (say 3-4 cm).  Drill a hole for the split pin. Cut you piece of rubber so that you can still take the bang out of the box.  Say cut it 2 cm shorter than the internal diameter of the pipe.  Thread it onto the piece of dowel. Hey presto! Take your favourite colour of paint and away you go... HTH This would turn out similar to one that a cafe might use (if you choose to make it that tall!).  It would also resemble the Sunbeam "Bang Bang" if made for a counter-top. I think it would be easier than making a square one...
