After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

5KG Roasters, different types

Hello all.
Good evening to everyone.
Question: If i was looking for a good quality 5kg coffee roaster, and had
around $20,000 to spend, what would you recommend.
Hopefully a good one can be had for that price.  I could go to around
22k, but that would really need to include delivery and installation as well,
and hopefully some training on it to.

Guy walks into a coffee shop and asks, do you serve a short black?
The barista replies, we serve everybody here sir.
I promise to give you the bean, the whole bean, and nothing but the bean.

  • I feel that Turkish or Asian made roasters would be in the price range you have budgeted for I get lots of emails all the time from manufacturers As a start point why not try Coffee Roasters Australia - http://www.coffeeroasters.com.au/our-products/coffee-roasters-australia/shop-light-commercial/ KK
  • I would ask Mark from Coffee Roasters Australia about a Proaster which is Korean built, but absoluetly excellent quality, which no doubt Mark will convince you of as he did me. I recently purchased a 1.5Kg Proaster from him, and the quality of the roaster is exceptional, and the quality of the roasting output is equally so. (I wanted a gas fired roaster so that limited my options a bit). Not sure how much a 5kg Proaster costs and if he has any in stock, but I do know they provide a wide range of sizes. However the quality does come at a cost, and of course Mark has to make the usual modifications required to comply with local gas and safety regulations. Graham
  • Just enquired on these myself a few weeks ago Proaster 5kg - THCR-03 5KG  $25,500.00 Has Garanti 5kg - HSR5 - $17,500.00 Both manual machines that you can add lots of extras too, automation, bling and other stuff. Plenty of happy HG owners out their, Mark at coffee roasters (and Wayne) do a great job of specing these up to OZ and his standards Good luck on your roaster hunt. Monday I have to go and pick up a new toy  ;D Chester
