After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

  • For me it's just one more variable that I don't need to deal with - between managing social media, and an already existing smartphone loyalty card ap, the prospect of managing and monitoring another method of ordering is one more piece of technology that I do not need! For starters I can turn out a takeaway coffee in very little time, eliminating the need to call ahead anyway, and secondly the telephone already works as a pretty handy conduit for those who desperately need a takeaway coffee, or to place a large order for same, but are for whatever reason very pressed for time ! #onemorehasslethatidonotneed!
  • I've been using "Beat The Q" which is similar to order from Mecca at Cicular Quay, it's handy as I don't like carrying cash. Plus it can get very busy so I can beat the queue in the morning. I do feel using it you miss out on a lot of interaction with the barista and sometimes I'll order a flat white then arrive and see an amazing single origin as coffee of the day then wish I'd ordered something else. Overall I do like it but it has its drawbacks.
  • I also use pre-purchase cards - purchase ten coffees up front for a 20 per cent saving ! Then we click each coffee as we go ! They're fast and good - and tactile, and unlike loyalty cards they pretty much guarantee return patronage - as the punters have already parted with their hard earned - and they need to return to redeem it! • I like the prepay card. Huge  discount compared to most loyalty schemes, but it puts money in the bank and there will be some that don't take full advantage, so the real  discount is somewhat lower. Do any of the apps offer a prepay discount scheme? Trickier to manage than a card, but not impossible
  • I haven't come across any cafe offering pre-purchase cards. I guess not many of them around. > Do any of the apps offer a prepay discount scheme? Trickier to manage than a card, but not impossible It should not be trickier at all. With loyalty, you accumulate points and redeem them (to 0). With prepayment, you pay for points and gradually burn them. Put 'prepayment cafe' got me this link: http://mazecard.com.au/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/A+simple+way+to+increase+cash+flow+for+your+cafe
