As you know the Achilles has gone.  Funds are a little tight, but I'm on the look out for a cheapish machine, preferably HX to keep the wife happy.

Prefer a HX, with a HW tap, steam etc.  Other than that, I'm not fussy.  It doesn't need to be a lever!  Can be plumb or tank, but must run on 10amp.  Single group preferred, it needs to fit in the kitchen!  I'm not going down the Sunbeam Breville route so you can keep them!   Snobby I know, but they just aren't user serviceable.

I have a BFC compact sized commercial 1 group heat exchanger machine. Its a semi auto (as in rocker switch operation) with modern derivative solenoid operated commercial E61 group, 4 litre boiler, 1 steam pipe and 1 water pipe. Water pipe is toggle switch / solenoid valve operated. Requires mains water connection OR, this one can be run from a container because the auto fill box does switch the pump on when auto filling.  Motor and rotative impeller pump (not vibrating - it is a commercial machine). Also requires drain connection....as with most commercial machines the drip tray is not big enough to accommodate operation without drain connection (ie would overflow in a short space of time if drain was not used. Depends on your budget, and if there is any interest just send me a PM.

You usually can run a commercial machine in a domestic situation without plumbing the waste - just whack a largish roasting tin underneath it to catch the output from the drain. Remember to empty the tray regularly though. Obviously a properly plumbed drain is better, but not critical.

Hi, I have a rancilio s24 that I'm looking to sell. Fully descaled with all seals and gaskets replaced. OPV set for 9 bar extractions. I guess it depends what you mean by cheap HX. Regards, John

Thanks everyone for the posts/advice, and offers of machines. I've sourced a NS Oscar for espresso duties, which should arrive mid week.  Hopefully that will keep the wife happy!
