Over cooked roast.

Roasted a batch a couple of days ago, consisting of tail ends, included Monsoon Malabar, Cuba Escambray, and a Kenyan bean.

Broke my own rule and attempted to work on another project at the same time, result? bit of a disaster, by the time I got got over my brain fade I had a shed full of smoke and a roaster full of almost black beans, even thought I may have to break out the fire extinguisher, bugger.

Guess I cant complain, the first time its happened in 5 years of roasting.

Lesson to us all, roasting requires our full attention. :doh:

It's been a few days since you posted this "disaster" DB and it's not surprising there hasn't been any further comments. Probably because, if you pardon the slight pun, at some stage in our roasting experiences, we/I've bean there, done that. :doh: I started with a Behmor and had similar events at least twice that I recall. But since roasting began on the JYR (CCR) it hasn't been a problem because I manually tweak and hand log the roasts. Yep, complacency and roasting, apart from this medium, are not to be used in the same sentence.  :P

I'm enjoying MyCuppas Amazon thinking of you DB.  We've all been there but I'll be the first to admit that my garden has had the pleasure of my burned roast, not my taste buds.

Hmmmmm, bah humbug :head: still drinkin this stinkin rubbish, though the container is visually diminishing  I still have a few more days of suffering to endure. Have just consumed one of the worst double shots its ever been my misfortune to imbibe. Won't forget this episode in a hurry. :'(

Roasted a new batch of 750 grams this AM, approx 200g MM Malabar, 450g Yirg and 100g of Robusta, stopped the roast @ 225
