After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

• Yep!  Disgusting!! Don't show my wife!!!
• Strangely enough my daughter thought it looked pretty good as well. ::)
• I was drooling over it too  >:D.
• I,m strangely drawn to that thing. If only I was thirty years younger... Will see if my cafe wants to have a new addition to the menu..[emoji14]
• Hmmm, and people wonder why we're turning into a nation of fatso's. :stir
• the last joint i worked we made nutella chai, nutella lattes, nutella hot chocolate - and nutella waffles - and i have to say that despite initial skepticism they were a hit with the customers!
• My favourite way to eat Nutella is with a spoon while standing in the pantry late at night.
• I can feel my gut expanding just looking at it  :-[ Never liked Nutella .. tried it once .. A mate dropped by recently with some cakes .. and one was a donut with Nutella in it. I love donuts - cinnamon or jam (no icing) and simply cut out the chocolate gunk. Love chocolate .. the good stuff .. only never warmed to hazelnuts. The idea of chocolate on toast as a kid never appealed to me. Nutella pizzas is the worst I've heard of .. only I'm waiting for the day when someone comes up with a roast chicken smothered in chocolate  ::) - most likely already out there as a favourite chicken dish .. disgusting  8) ps. I'm not a fatty ... so have managed to exercise a little restraint when it comes to indulgences Once hird from a lady at a quality coffee shop .. we were talking about chocolate mud cake .. she said she liked hers with a chocolate sauce over it. Blimey, as if it isn't rich enough.. it needs more? ---> Must be a Woman thing. lol  >:D Carol was shortish .. and had a good figure .. so I take it that it was only a rare indulgence. Nothing wrong with that.

Well said Moon, I'm no fan of Nutella either, sickly goopy cr*p, and people feed it to their kids as a regular part of their diet, fatty boomba here we come. Quoted from this article http://blogs.plos.org/obesitypanacea/2012/05/01/is-nutella-delicious-absolutely-is-it-nutritious-nope/ After sugar, the second most common ingredient in Nutella is palm oil. The same palm oil which is high in palmitic acid, a fatty acid which the World Health Organization claims is convincingly linked to increased risk of cardiovascular disease (see the report here, and skip to page 98 for the info on palmitic acid). In fact, roughly half the calories in Nutella are from sugar, and the other half are from fat. Only about 4% of the calories are from protein. The Nutella USA website previously suggested that Nutella is healthy because it “is made with hazelnuts which are a great source of vitamins.” Note that they didn’t say that Nutella is a great source of vitamins, because it’s not – a single serving has 0% of the recommended daily intake of Vitamins A and C, and just 10% of the recommended intake of Vitamin E. Chocolate chicken? yep, been done http://www.popsugar.com/food/Chocolate-Fried-Chicken-Recipe-35004488 needless to say by the Yanks ::)
• Palm oil is not used in Australian made Nutella. But yes it is 58% sugars, so this should be taken into account for ones daily calories. Home made pizza dough cooked on a stone with a thin smear of Nutella covered with slices of kiwi fruit and banana is delicious...I have served it many times to those who claim to hate nutella and they always want more.

According to this site Zoos Victoria http://www.zoo.org.au/news/ferrero-brings-palm-oil-switch-forward 100 per cent Certified Sustainable, traceable palm oil  is still used in Australian Nutella. "This is a copy of a reply from Nutella to a letter of enquiry by Jacqui McLeay in 2013 Hi there. I have just written to Nutella and this is my reply I received. Would like your oppinion, to me it sounds ok to eat Nutella Good Morning Jacqui, Thanks for your email. I can confirm that the vegetable oil we use in Nutella is palm oil. Ferrero uses palm oil in Nutella for texture and taste purposes. It is important to understand that Ferrero sources its Palm oil from Malaysia and Papua New Guinea, not from Indonesia where extensive deforestation is taking place. Ferrero is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil organisation (RSPO) (www.rspo.org) and our commitment is to source 100% certified sustainable palm oil by 2014. Further information can be found in the Social Responsibility section of our website located at: http://www.ferrero.com.au/…/csr-re…/a-footsteps-of-20-steps/ Kind Regards, Ben Adams Consumer Care Ferrero Australia"
• Nutella is great but Nutino is better. Not as sweet so you can eat more of it. [emoji38]
• Nuttela on hot, toasted crumpets is the best, all that chocolately, hazelnutty goodness filling those crumpet holes can't be beat  :P.

And link to the WHO report doesn't work. Hmmmm

Chocolately, hazelnutty 'goodness' eh? Sounds to me that the advertising hype on this junk being good for you is also being swallowed. Each to their own, of course  :P I remember being a bit dark on my Sister when she was feeding chocolate to her toddlers .. who were, at a guess . about 2-3 yo. Fancy introducing that junk to a kid of that age. Having said all that .. I did buy a Toblerone 2 x 200g for $7 at Coles the other day ... and made my own Pizza (inc dough) last night .... only don't even suggest I chop some Toblerone up and put it on my Pizza. Some things are just meant to be eaten .. and enjoyed on their own .. although, I do like to alternate a chunk or 2 of chocolate .. with some Aussie grown salted peanuts.  8)  Clears the palate for the next instalment. I like my crumpets with some fresh unsalted butter only. Some things are best left simple. Same goes for not complicating a latte by adding hazelnut, vanilla etc.  Geezuss Man .. what is it that you don't like about the taste of the coffee bean!  :o I used to watch Masterchef etc .. and baulked when contestants were given 3 ingredients to work with Duck .. chocolate .. and a veg??  It had to happen ... but then .. I lost interest in those shows after that. Like a daytime Cooking show had the ingredients .. flour, sugar, cream, butter, eggs ...... couldn't believe it .. is this person selling a recipe to shorten a persons lifespan (heart attack?) .. I mean .. c'mon .. they should be promoting healthy cooking .. not promoting Obesity and contributing to illness and possibly an early death.  8) Edit: Yep .. I also subscribe to anything in moderation
• By goodness I meant taste wise, I am under no illusion the stuff is good for anyone. Moderation in all, well most, things  :coffee2:. I shan't mention hubby and his penchant for Spam, yes Spam on crumpets. The Spam heats up and stinks the house out  :o.

Try again Bottom Line, think I've fixed the link. :)

The link to the article works but the link inside the article to the WHO report doesn't http://www.who.int/hpr/NPH/docs/who_fao_expert_report.pdf It comes back with "The page cannot be found". Seems strange to me that the WHO would publish a report that implies that coconut should be avoided, mothers shouldn't breastfeed and chocolate with a lower amount of cocoa mass is healthier?
• Ha, like this, obscene eating movement. Reckon we're only a few years behind our fat friends on the other side of the Pacific and catching up fast. :( http://thenewdaily.com.au/life/2015/11/14/food-porn-clean-eating-backlash-freak-shake/

Coulda sworn I read or heard a while ago that oz had lurched ahead of the USA in the Obesity stakes .. ?? Nutella is the Nescafe of chocolate. Peeps have to be desperate for a chocky (or caffeine) fix to go there .. yeah? Chocolate - just bought a 2 for $7 200g Toblerone last night. At least I'm bypassing the low quality junk if I am going to indulge myself.  Man .. that Connoisseur 'Belgian Chocolate' ice-cream is the bees-knees .. well, until I stumbled across the 'Chocolate Obsession' The Belgian has a nutty flavour with a chocky sauce .. and the Obsession has cherries and chocky flakes in it ... Yeah Baby!!. Not that it needed the sauce .. only I'm getting where that lady is coming from with the Choc Mud cake .. having the sauce over it.  ??? Just to prove I'm not anti-chocolate .. like coffee .. there's the 'real coffee' and then there's the other stuff.  >:D The idea for me with 'moderation' .. is to have less .. and make it a more enjoyable experience. eg. 1 cup of coffee made from freshly ground beans .. is better than 6 cups of Nescafe. You feelin me?  8) The end

It's never "the end" mate. Great reading post.... as usual. Yeah the moderation bit usually works, but it seems some people's idea of moderation differs a lot more than others. And with this stuff (Connoisseur Ice Cream), how much of these ingredients/chemicals could an already unhealthy body tolerate? Belgian Ingredients: Water, Cream (31%), Sugar, Skim Milk Concentrate, Cocoa Solids (6%), Dextrose Monohydrate Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Vegetable Fat, Belgian White Chocolate (Milk) (0.5%), Milk Solids, Vegetable Gums (410, 412, 440, 407a), Vegetable Origin Emulsifier [471 (Soy)], Thickener (1422), Salt, Mineral Salt 9339), Preservative (202), Flavour. Keeping in mind the larger amount ingredients are always listed first. 6% Cocoa Solids is the only thing listed that even goes close to being chocolate! What is skim milk concentrate BTW?? I chuckled reading the last ingredient on the list...flavour   Wasn't enough room on the label to list the 'ingredients' of "flavour" This "food" might taste yummy, but hey, a scientist can (and does) make shite taste good.  :stir And yes, unfortunately you are right about the Oz obesity stakes!  :( Give me a real dark chocolate block any time. (Moderately of course)  "Feelin' you"? Yep. REAL coffee, REAL chocolate and REAL food. Can't go wrong IMO.  :thumb:
• Re obesity, according to this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2920219/How-fat-country-nations-highest-obesity-rates-new-maps-surprise-you.html USA still lead Aust by a fair margin Moon, USA 40%+, Aust 30%, just give us time, we're workin on it. ::)
• Ive now got a craving for Nutella. Hrmmmmm.
