After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

green bean roaster

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Hi,

Can someone tell me their experience with coffee roasted by a Green Bean Roaster, can it achieve pretty much the same result as conventional method, I heard this machine is so simple to use a 10 minutes training is all you needed.
Just follow the roasting profile I think some sort of program build in.

  • At the end of the day they are better than imported coffee. However, I trained to roast for 3 years and I would say my product is heaps better than what they produce. Great for novelty but you cant beat a pro roaster selling fresh quality stuff.
  • i get great results from my gene cafe roaster which i'm able to reproduce fairly accurately.  Of course you cant compare a $800 machine with one worth ten times that much, but with a bit of practise you can get very good results indeed. And the best thing about home roast is that you are guaranteed a fresh coffee when you need one, and  if it tastes like crap you can only blame yourself!
