After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Popcorn popper hack

Just found this link on creating a cheap "wifi connected profiling popcorn popper fluid bed roaster" for under 40 bux.

Project looks a bit too tech for me but it may be of interest to some on the forum so I thought I would share.

  • Crikey some people are clever.
  • Wowza, very cool! My popper method was muuuuch more low tech than that haha.. the only addition was the tin can to extend amount of beans I could put in, and also to prevent them from popping out.
  • I for one would not be messing with electronics unless i was an approved electrician or electrical engineer Ive been using poppers that ive scored from op shops for next to nix for years and no mod is required (correction Ive only owned two in the last twenty years coz they've been so well made and not plastic crap that they havent needed replacing!) I started the same way Simon - a simple popper with a tin extension to roast 90g. Great way to start roasting that’s for sure.
