After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Water used for espresso machine

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
hi,

i would like to know if the water use for the machines has to be filtered externally to bring out the best of the beans?
i'm talking bout coffees made using by home espresso machine.
from where i lived, the waters are not so pure or there is a concern that rust in water pipings.
Thanks.

  • Filtration is considered a minimum and depending on your water quality softening may also be required to reduce scale build up.
  • Hi guys - we had a great article on this in the mag a couple of years ago, by Chris Short, MD of Cafetto. will see if I can dig up a soft copy and post it online! A
