Hi guys - take a look at this message it's pretty funny, or sad - depending on your point-of-view: "Crema, I've just taken a lok at your website, and confirmed my suspicions about your incredibly out of date, commercially motivated magazine. The cafe ratings page is a completely useless venture as the comments posted can not be monitored for integrity, or even any knowledge on the making of coffee, and the comments are generally out of date regarding details as important as coffee suppliers! The photo of the woman in her underwear on the "pics/fun stuff" page is completely innappropriate for any credible website to display, except perhaps one interested in the promotion and sale of underwear or pornography. It is an offensive picture which says more about the editors of your magazine and website than most punters would care to know. You've definitely lost more than one reader through this little website venture, and I can assure you that Crema will not be stocked in any cafe or restaurant with which I have any current or future association. Kerry Maisey." The key to the vitriol is clearly her offence at the picture of poor Jennifer Hawkins that I had put in as a filler before heading off on my research trip to India, and not got around to removing it. However, it was a publicly aired pic (you may remember, the poor girl's kit dropped off at a fashion parade:>) rather than some sort of porno picture that we posted - and hey, the menu title does say, 'PICS/Fun stuff'...anyway, poor dear's got it right - we should have taken it down, so you've got one day left before we remove the offending pic...and just in case Kerry reads this post (which is unfortunately highly unlikely) we're terribly depressed that 'Crema will not be stocked in any cafe or restaurant with which I have any current or future association.' We're right on deadline for next issue so gotta go - just wish i had as much time as some people clearly do! Ciao Admin   :o PS - just in case anyone's wondering, we do try and check most cafe ratings - it involves calling any cafe which receives an unusually good or bad rating and checking its authenticity, which is usually done by - guess who...when I don't have anything better to do!

Very interesting how she/he refers to 'monitoring for integrity' and then goes on with the standard "I was offended, and so were many of my friends". Is she/he associated with any cafe's/restaurants? I assume that she/he will have boycotted the SMH.com.au for similarly posting the offending pic's? Can't please everyone. BTW Admin - I was surprised you didn't extend your trip to India by at least another week or so - I am sure by now (2:15 pm AEST) Haydo has scored a triple ton and Haberjhan is conceded a couple of hundred for no wicket? Would be great to be in Bangalor right now! P

Admin - I find Kerry's comments (aside: Why does Reschsmooth persist in referring to Kerry as she/he instead of by name, ie Kerry?) neither funny or sad and find your response quite interesting. I hardly think you can honestly call it vitriol and as you now admit "(Crema)should have taken it down" it seems quite hypocritical. Your sexist comment where you refer to Kerry as a "poor dear" is so juvenile. Please Admin, try to maintain a professional standard. As for Kerry's criticism of the Cafe Ratings page I agree - it is woefully out of date. Regardless of the reason, the comment is valid. Further along these lines, I seem to remember a comment a while back about posting some more articles onto the website? Any news on this front? And do we have a winner in the Best headline comp yet? The only updates that appear to take place on this website involves the Forum, and this often seems limited to a small handful of members. Why you would want to offend potential members and drive them away (and bad word of mouth is not something you want to invite) is beyond me. Not sure what your advertisers, not to mention other Forum participants and readers, think of your childish comments. >:(

This is an open forum and here is my 26 dollar note's worth: Respectfully, if the photo is offensive to Kerry, then he/she (yes, it could be either) probably is not in the market that Crema magazine is pitched at anyway (!). I certainly wouldn't call the photo pornographic, and whilst I wouldn't put it on my own website, its harmless enough especially as it's been everywhere else in the mainstream.  Seems a bit of an over reaction really. I too am mystified by the comment about Crema being too commercially motivated or out of date. The comment is ambiguous, is Kerry referring to the mag, or the website. The mag couldn

hmmm... it saddens me and amuses me at the same time when a loud over stated few get up in arms over something as trivial as a picture such as the one shown not only on this site but all over the mass media. Having a laugh/joke about something as pointless as a dress falling down should be encouraged (even though the winning entry was sub-standard  8)) especially when society has become so self absorbed, shallow, overly sensitive and politically correct to the point of stupidity. If such a harmelss picture offends, look away, change the channel etc. We are on the verge of becoming an Orwelian society where the loud minority believe it is their moral right to dictate what we can and can't see/do/hear. A society where we tip-toe aound people on the off chance that we might offend. A society built around a popularity contest where we have to second guess our actions so as not get off side with those we're exploiting to get to the top.... What it all comes down to is lighten up...

OK So the pic was a bit cheeky ;D I would not be surprised if Miss World actually became a bit more notorious after her unintended flash. Similar to the Janet Jackson boob incident. I wonder if Kerry has ever been to  the beach. I was at Manly last weekend and saw a lot more flesh than the Crema pic and the beach was full of young children. Life is toooooo serious. Most persons out there do not understand what it is like to be a one man band. Working 18-20 hours a day 7 days a week. Many work 9-5 and have office support to do the basic chores. Keep up the good work.
