After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Espresso with absinth shot

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Last night, on a whim, I put a shot of La Fee absinthe into my espresso. I got my head back together at about 11.30 the following morning.

Go on, take a piece out of me. I'm the first in history to do this, society needs its visionaries.

  • Circuit freak that is so 1982, we have been doing that for years.  Welcome back. Ristretto  8)
  • "So 1982" would've been an insult in 1993, but in 2003 it has, to the amazement of many, become a compliment in certain music circles. And I shall take it as such.
  • CF, Take it as read, keep innovating, see you on the other side Ristretto  8)
  • So CF Have you cut of an Ear or anything yet???? Wasn't Absinthe Van Gogh's personal favorite ?? EF
  • Yes, I believe so, although there isn't a medical condition that hasn't been imputed to Van Gogh as the cause of his alleged insanity, so the role of absinth is controversial. Other artists to fall under the spell of the green fairy were Toulouse-Laurec and Oscar Wilde. My personal experience is that about 4 hours after my little variation on the Spanish espresso recipe (they use brandy I believe?), I was indeed entertaining thoughts of murder. However, I often feel this way without the assistance of absinth. It might have been the coffee, for example.
