After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Forum Participants finally meet / Cafe Circus

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Yesterday I made the pilgrimmage to the Fine Food Show in Sydney.

There were two highlights to the day.

a) meeting the director of the Italian manufacturing company from which my coffee company imports its machines

b) meeting Forum buddy "Over Extracted".

I actually did a sneaky thing while O.E. was busy with someone else...bought a coffee over the counter, sat quietly, and checked out the quality of his brew.

Nice one O.E., your espresso machine operator is doing a good job...but then you already know that. Look forward to further meetings.

While in town I looked around and was extra amazed at what people will put up with in outdoor cafe settings. They sit in conditions so noisy you cant (thankgod) hear mobile phones ringing, cramped, dirty, and ultra smelly with exhaust fumes. Why?

It was also quite amusing to see eXpresso-cafe-mania overtaking other industries... the same substandard outdoor cafe settings with barriers and umbrellas (where they can be fitted in) in conjunction with car washes, book shops and the like.

What next, Joe's Fruitarama and outdoor cafe, or Henry's Bank and outdoor cafe, or perhaps Hung's laundromat and outdoor cafe.

It's a circus out there.

Fresh Coffee.
