After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

new machine

edited January 1970 in Have your say
hello all
this is my first posting on the forum so I am not sure if I will be getting any responses to my question

I poped into hudsons last week and saw a machine that they are selling for just under $1000.00 called the vibiemme domobar

I have not heard much about this but what I do not is that it has a 1.5L boiler and also has the Faema E61 group, I am not sure what its espresso making ability is and would be interested in any positive and negative feedback about this machine before I look into it further

look forward to all responses

  • Hello Chris, when we were importing this model there were (are still?) 2 derivatives and by the sound of the price you are looking at the base model. If so dont be fooled by the commercial type group as this machine operates very much like a domestic machine. This means, it will not deliver coffee and steam at the same time and has far less capacity than it might at first appear from its appearance, especially if you are looking to entertain your friends with coffee. In which case you are open to look at all and sundry other domestic machines on the market. If on the other hand what you are looking at is a proper heat exchanger SEMI-COMMERCIAL Domobar going cheap, then that is a different story. As an ex importer and service provider to the model I will be able to offer detailed explanations in answer to your question but feel it would be better done off-Forum. If you would like to take a look at what we progressed to after the Domobar, check the Equipment section of my company website and look at the Diadema Junior models. These are real semi-commecials. Just click on my name at the top LHS side of this post and then click on my company web address. Goodluck, FC.
