Over use of the word "Barista"

If anyone has any thoughts on this pls let me know. They have "Barista" championships yet they dont set the volumetrics or adjust the grind. How can they call themselves a champion when someone else has done all the hard work. Do you think that employers should stop using the word in ads?

ummm... i don't know which Barista Championships you are referring to but they do set their grind... in fact they bring their own grinders if they like , and they use a manual flow switch so the 'barista' controls the volume of every coffee produced...   ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

The question being "Do you think that employers should stop using the word in ads?" Yes I do. I cant see why we in Australia have to suffer through the feelings of cultural cringe displayed by those in the cafe industry who feel they have to call someone that professionally operates an espresso machine in business by a foreign word for barman. Doesn't make sense really, since when does a barman make coffee in this country? Many barmen I know actually have a real averson to operating espresso machines and would rather pour a beer. Mal.
