After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Toby's Estate Coffee?

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Alright guys, what are your opinions on Toby's Estate coffee?

I have applied for a job there, at the City Rd store. I never knew it even existed until a friend took me there the other day.

What other Australian owned Coffee wholesalers are there? Who do you think makes the best blend for commercial use?

  • Mathew you said "What other Australian owned Coffee wholesalers are there?" There are a number of local roasters and wholesalers that produce some pretty awsome coffee. It would be impossible to list them all. You said "Who do you think makes the best blend for commercial use?" This would be hard to answer. As there are so many variables from the roasted bean to the cup, to try and say who has the 'best' for commercial use would again be impossible. Generally, whichever bean works best for you. John
  • Tobys is a good coffee but sometimes its a little underdeveloped it is either to fresh or its just not right but then a lot of coffee blends are like that.Have any of you tried Rio coffee from Adelaide its quite nice do any of you know who sells it here in sydney apart from the Fair Trade shops.OE ;D
  • I have tried a number of Rio blends thanks to the willingness of the head roaster to continually perfect his craft.   I have no relationship with the company or its people but can say that the effort to understand every aspect of the espresso production process is without equal.   Adelaide's biggest consumer of Rio product is Cibo and they have built a phenominal business on the back of their attention to quality. • Tobys estate coffee. Hmmmmm Yeah its a good thing, although starting to become a little too big for its boots ;) No really great coffee, great marketing, and its Australian. Although you might want to check out Single Origin, Surrey Hills also Alpress Espresso in Rosebery. Happy Hunting
