Hello everybody, just wanted to say it has been such a pleasure reading all the previous posts - all about coffee - ! as you probably know, it's sometimes difficult to have a decent conversation regarding what we love and do best with too many people... so i have become a member.. can i throw a few questions out there? i'd love to get all your opinions.  Firstly, i'd love to become a trainer - share my knowledge and skills with those cafe people that just can't get it right up here on the gold coast - i must admit, there are a few goodies, but few and far between. i've been doing my research and feel i must become accredited first.  any advice out there???
secondly, i'd love to hear what you think about illy coffee - those who have drank it, worked with it and those who have just heard of it - i have my own opinion, i think it just doesn't stack up to the hype!  hey, it is a beautiful, smooth coffee to drink, but crema is so inconsistent..
can't wait to hear your thoughts   8)

Hello Silky and welcome I think illy make great cups and their 250gm coffee tins are good for storing freshly roasted coffee. As for the coffee itself, I find it bland and stale. I was in Melbourne over the last weekend and had an illy coffee and found it pretty ordinary. I bought a tin of illy ground once and the aroma(?) showed that it was also stale. Cheers P

By the time the coffee has been ground, stored, and then spent the last couple of months on a container being shipped to its destination, then spends time gathering dust on a retail shelf some where, is it any wonder that the flavour has headed South? As for an accredited trainer, I suggest that you approach your favourite coffee company on the Coast and ask about an in-house quality control position, which might entail tailored training for outlets, as well as quality control spot checks.
