After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Maybe but I drink it coz it tastes great!
  • Hopefully they don't advocate 'drinking it' like in AM's post here  :o ;D ;). http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=1410.0
  • Seriously I do wonder how these researchers get results like these.  There no other variables???  Maybe I should become a researcher and get bucket loads of money to research upgraditus and it's effect on folks wallets!  8)  There must be more pressing issues in the world that need more research and development that they could be working on. Men need to get themselves down the doctors once in a while and get things checked over.  We've had our head in a bucket of sand for too long and I doubt a few more coffees will make them go away. Personally I think everything in moderation is a good healthy motto.  ;D

I couldn't agree more. People are so into "health" but look always at one factor...no salt, no sugar, no fat, no carbs etc. How about eat a bit of everything, and you'll be fine, like everyone before us.
  • I can categorically say that coffee drinking linked to reducing prostate cancer, hasn't worked on me KK
  • Hi KK - hope recovery is progressing well. cheers A
  • Thanks A - all is as well as can be expected I will need to go back to hospital again in a couple of months for some more surgery Apart from that I am strong as a bull KK
  • Remember, 'The force will be with you, always.' Seriously though, I hope all goes well KK and you overcome this hurdle. Steve
  • And now coffee linked to psychotic symptoms. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/06/21/3249568.htm I really don't know where they get these studies from.  Too many variables for me with these, they are useless.  I would think drinking high energy high caffeine drinks would be worse for you because you get tons of sugar in them too.  Or oh my god, crossing the road could be dangerous, or picking your nose while driving at 100kph. I see the media have started up the whole, mobile phones are evil and that we are going to die from brain tumors again.  Research... NILL.  My mistake they had one doctors saying it might be the cause... might!  Maybe we are turning into the US where everyone lives in fear or themselves and their next door neighbour thanks to the media and the government.
  • My crackpot study plan to bring in the research dollars is: to research the effect of denying coffee to common all-garden variety researchers until such time as they do something useful!
  • Remember, studies with statistical analyses can only say that things are not the cause of something.  Otherwise it is suggested that x might be a cause of y. And by looking at the article, the sample size was way too small to even produce credible results. Must be a slow news day.
