After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Pickwick chai?

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone here knows where I can buy Pickwick Chai from? I'm a fan of chai latte, and notice the cafes with the best chai are usually (not always) using pickwick.

Happy to buy a large container - wholesale amount - if needed. I'm in Sydney.

Cheers,

mark

  • are you haniging out @ establishements using piazza doro? quite sure there is an arrangement (if not ownership) between Douwe Egberts (Sara Lee) & pickwick There are quite a number of chais in the market place now.
  • Fairly sure pickwick is owned by sara lee. there are a lot of chais, my point being pickwick is consistently the nicest in my experience. Anyone know a distributor/wholesaler in sydney I can buy it from?
  • not sure, have you tried kalma sutra? what others?
  • Hi Guys, I have become a great fan of Pickwick Chai Tea as well. Right now I buy at least 2 x 1.5Kg every month from the coffee shop at my work place. It costs me $40 for 1.5Kg container. I was searching the internet for a supplier in Melbourne from whom I would buy in bulk to save some money. But was not able to find one. If you guys find a place please let me know and I will reciprocate the same. Regards Raj
  • There are many excellent chais on the market and as a cafe owner I've tried quite a few. In fact, some of our regular contributors have even developed and marketed their very own successful brands. If you wanted to support this forum you could try personal messaging Mr Nang, as he has a lovely product under the Somage label. We are even in the early stages of negotiation - not for marketing our own chai (more's the pity!) - of examining the viability for commercial sponsorship for this site, which would make purchasing such a product only one click away! good luck with what ever you decide. • I use MrNang's chai, I get good feedback on it from my customers. Personally I cant stand the stuff (not just his) and I wish I didn't have to offer it. But if I had my way I wouldn't be making extra hot weak decaf capp mugs with extra choc... ::)
  • There are lots of chais, yes, and that's kinda the point of this discussion: I've found pickwick to be consistently the best. maybe there are better ones, I dunno, but I don't want to try 50 different chais to find out! Still looking to find a place to buy it - preferably for less than $40, Raj! Ouch, that hurts!
  • fair nuff have you tried 'googling' it? P
  • Yes I have. This site comes up second in google :) (I've contacted the people in first to no avail)
  • maybe its karma and your're meant to contact mr nang instead!
  • I just found out now that a girl I know fairly well is married to a Douwe Eggberts sales rep, and has pickwick chai at home! Needless to say, I've asked her to find out how I can get some. I'll let you know if I come up with anything good.
  • see good things come to those who wait let us know how you go!
  • Hi, We love the Pickwick Chai too - have sampled several different brands but this one is by far the yummiest!
  • nice see we keep you informed here on the crema discussion forum!
