After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Tiger Mountain?

Hi guys

The A grade Tiger Mountain keeps coming up in threads.

Where is the best place to get some of this (or equivalent) in green beans, please?

I've checked the sponsors and I do have a variety on its way from BeanGreen, but I'm not sure what to get for a bean of this type.

    It was my first green bean along with a PNG Wahgi. At the time I asked the question what is a nice easy bean to roast and get a good result with. Those two options were recommended at the time. Maybe not the most wayout coffee but a really nice coffee hints of spice and chocolates and a really nice even bean to roast. Oh that plus the bag is cool I have one framed up and hanging at home :-* If you want to try some then maybe drop Jeff at mycuppa a line I know he did/does have some on offer.     I missed buying this from mycuppa when Jeff had it, I'm waiting until next year as I think most of what around isn't as good as the stuff that went 'wizz' out the door so quick  :D

    Yep, I'm sorry. My link was for roasted coffee. It looks as though Mycuppa has only three different green beans for sale...is that correct :question:

    Yep on the greens, Jeff has mentioned in the past he doesn't really sell greens. I do however know that a PM or email has got a few members here some stuff not always shown on the site. Please don't take this to mean ask for all he has as roasted as green but for a special worth a go.

    Thanks guys. I did see it was available as roasted beans but I'm really after green so am looking for this or equivalent in green, if anyone has any suggestions. I want to try a blend like Jeff suggests in this post: http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/beans-or-blends-you-like-and-how-they-taste/blend-suggestions/msg20684/#msg20684. I'm no expert so I'm going to try what other people have suggested and am buying beans in order to play with those.

    Divey at present, Jeff puts up new ones every now :) Remember he's not a green bean supplier, he's a roaster, it's a bonus for us that he supplies us with green beans as well :) Sorry that was a bit redundant, I got cut off as I pressed post...

    Thanks Folks. Tiger is perilously low as a recent container only just arrived at the broker. Unfortunately, I cannot spare any green and I'm just about out myself. As a tip, you can use just about any Indian Plantation A (within reason). Personally, at the moment I'm loving Elk Hill way better. We have the Natural which is distinctly different to ITM in so many ways - super sweet, tons of body and a delightful raisin finish. Your Indian A generally delivers good chocolate due to the varietal S795 (Mocha derivative) Timbo, did you know that Pic of my ITM bag has been used by quite a few people selling Tiger.....it was a dodgy pic, but somehow it's become very attractive for others to "borrow".

    Yes they are. Although 2010/11 crop prints were very bad as the Ink was not left to dry properly and resulted in smudges and imprints from other bags in areas.
