After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Looks like some stuff will have to go... Like my MegaCrema 2 group...

You were talking to me about an old BOEMA What made you go for this ? not that there's anything wrong with it KK
  • You jammy bugger!  :thumb:  Your going to have some fun with that mate. What happened to the Boema?  I was interested but you didn't give me any details.  Any how that machine sounds like it's pretty much ready out the box (or is that boot of the car). Lucky finding one so close to home too, all the ones I've found are in WA! lol. Make sure we get loads of photos when you get your hands on it!  Better tell KK his timber is on hold too... you'll be far too busy!   :stir

I make the coffee (as his personal barista) while he concentrates on wood work KK
  • I saw this and watched it the first time. I reckon you've got a bargain just quietly!  Lucky beggar!!!  It seriously count have gone to a better home.  Can't wait to see it in action!
  • Well done AM!  Cimbali makes seriously good stuff.  :thumb:
  • Will it be up and running for when I drop off the items you require to copy for the special Strega custom work ? Love to get my hands on it so we can both learn how to use it AM Mrs AM may finally get a coffee worth 10/10 ( I know she is a tough critic) KK
  • About time I say  :thumb: good luck with adjusting the toy collection to suit
  • So the next question is, how much do you want for the megacrema ...  I'm guessing for the Lever you didn't pay the asking price ($1445), but that machine has style oozing from every angle.
  • Nice pick up AM, now there's a project that should keep you occupied for a day or two. :coffee2:
  • on 1328055210:
Next week or two should see it cleaned up. Too Original to re build and over work... Then if I can't get things sorted and to sit on the rear deck, off to market it will go  :o
No No No, you got it all wrong AM.  It will be coming to my house!  :D
  • Cool find AM Thinking of a lever when the GS is finished, (and sold says the wife, but we'll see about that  >:D)
  • on 1328073092:
OH and is it you or the Wife that is then moving out
I'm a lucky man AM.  If it spits out a chai latte once in a while I can usually get away with a new machine :) Can we have a photo?  Come on you know we all love a photo. :)
  • That machine is on the polishing bench AM ! Good to see the priorities are straight  8)
  • Looks a bit like my 2 group now
  • Awwww, not so shiny now  :-*
  • I know a fella with a bigger drill press  8) http://www.queenslandgaskets.com.au/
  • WOW~~NICE MACHINE AM!! I was struggling between my Giotto and my thesis, I did not find AM got a fantastic machine. Although I did not really have the knowledge how good the lever machine is. But as a newbie, I can understand it must be bloody GOOD!!

Off topic but  I'm pretty sure these guys supplied gaskets for a fluid bed kiln exhaust upgrade I worked on a few years ago - some if the gaskets operated at +1000 degC and the flange OD's were around 1700mm - big & hot! from memory they were a pleasure to deal with.
  • Was it a 57 mm tamper you needed AM? I have a 57 Espro that isn't needed and I'm sure we could come to a barter arangement. Let me know
  • on 1328683810:
Product made on the machine, may contain traces of asbestos  8)  But it's OK... your only ingesting it even if a bit breaks off... Besides, unless ya try and breath the fluid, it will not get in your lungs.
Asbestos causes cancer. Smoking causes cancer. A single exposure to either won't kill. Try telling that to a school teacher who won't go into her (or his) classroom because it has asbestos in it  ::)
  • AM, it would depend on a few things. Can it run on 10amp? What's the condition like? When you get it up and running let me know and we can discuss.

Just placed an order for about 80 Euro, plus shipping from a supplier of parts in the EU. Was going to cost about $280US plus and then plus shipping from the USA  :o AND if I tried here, well it would take me weeks to go through every page on coffeeparts.  Some items available but trying to find is just not worth the hassle.  And some would still have to come from OS. In addition the costs on some items are quite interesting... A few cents VS dollars. Thus, log to the EU site, call up exploded views by model or by manufacturer and select and build your order. Save and come back late, after you realise you need other things  ??? .  All my bits from one supplier and less stress...
Excellent!  Makes sense that if a machine comes from Europe that'd be the best place to source parts... Especially the more obscure parts.  Can't wait to see the final product!  :thumb:
  • Does Mrs AM like it Or have you been sent to the shed KK
  • Just say it AM. Dodgyness is all around us. Spelling included
  • I think bf will need a full set of seals. From memory that machine sat in storage for 15 years!!!! I doubt your supplier would sell lusso stuff would they?
  • Hey AM, PM me the site and I'll have a cruise.  I'm not after anything but who knows....  ;)
  • Get any oysters out of it ?
