After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Emergent Repairs of Coffee Equipment.

edited June 2011 in Espresso Machines
Admin, if this is not OK feel free to remove.

I have been rebuilding Coffee Machines / Small Roasters and Grinders for some time now AND have access to most pieces of test equipment and tools to carry out most repairs.  I have access to a lathe and Bead blaster, which has been a godsend when trying to clean up badly maintained systems and group heads etc...

I do not have stock or parts on hand, as it has and is a hobby - NOTHING MORE.

With that being said; BRISBANE is light on for Suppliers and Service people.  Many items have to be returned to a bulk service centre and can take weeks for even teh most simplest of repairs etc.

I have full time work, but it does allow me some time during teh day and evening to spend playing and working on projects.

Thus, if your in Brisbane and in needs of advice or assistance; I may be able to assist.

1: Cleaning of EM6910 and steam problems and other blockages and replacement collars.

2: HoTTop Roaster  - I have had two and still use one and have stripped and modified more than one..

3: Most other Espresso machines of the Prosumer type and even larger two and 3 group machines have been looked at and fixed in my shed.

4: I refuse to look at Super Autos for many reasons

5: Grinders of all types

NOTE: It is a hobby and an interest that keeps me occupied and my hands on tools.

Any one who hands over their equipment - does so knowing that it is done as a favour and that they will have to supply / pay for parts etc  AND that I take all care but no responsibility  ;D

I do not collect or deliver. If your have a problem and I offer to look and provide assistance / advice. You have to bring to me  ;D

AT the end of the day for most cases I just ask that  you pay MY effort forward and give back to someone else when they might need something..

PM me if you have any questions.

  • I have not needed AMs help in the past as I can do most repairs myself Having said that he has helped countless others over the years without skills to get them drinking coffee again by resurrecting some machines, when others give up I remember one or two storeys from another forum when he gave machines away to people in need Normally his generosity goes unmentioned Sadly this generosity is sometimes misconstrued by some The comments from people he has helped for a price of a smile is simply amazing KK
  • that's very generous AM - good repairers are hard to find here in melbourne also...
  • I got pretty good at replacing triacs on my dishwasher PCB. Kept blowing the legs off em. As far as machine repairs go, I can think of no one better to have a fiddle. Utterly qualified to do so and does it with a smile ( mostly). Big ups to AM  :thumb: :thumb:
  • could'vr done with you at my work today AM - the production monitor (throws all my coffee orders up onto a touchscreen) packed it in today - problem I think with the data cable which runs for about 3m most of that submerged in the concrete floor with a stainless plate covering it but we were too busy to pull it all apart so I checked connections and cleaned and tidied where I could including isolating the power supply and cleaning it up a bit and the food waste recycle unit (replaces a grease trap and separates everything that goes down the sink into food solids, bio diesel, and recycle water) - packed it in and I'm guessing by the amount of sludge that I had to remove from the unit (imagine being arm deep in something that smells like and resembles s*** but is not s***!) - that the unit hasnt been running properly for about a week! ahh.... the things we do but still I dont complain coz life is good and business is good! You've probably already done it, but if that monitor is the same as your other one on the counter, swapping them will confirm if it is the monitor or something else. And of course swap the connections on the computer end to verify if cable. Thanks again for the machine (and coffee). Already been playing with my quad basket in the new group handle.
