After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

  • Hey, Thanks guys, couldn't  make it but now I can at least see what's happening! I couldn't get this vision to work on my iPad but I've taken over someone's laptop at basketball. Sorry no pics or sound- but it looks like fun OG
  • Gonna loose the laptop in a minute... But I did hear Di say she is using her iPad which is what I'm typing this on... So I'm gonna go see if it works through Google on the iPad rather than Tapatalk. Cheers, Have a great day, OG
  • Ol Grumpy, download the Google+ app for iOS, it's what the hangout is streaming from.
  • Well the live streaming was fun, shame we couldn't all share the Pizza. AM tried to wave a prawn in our faces and some other blowin tried to wave something else before Kelsey  :pan him  :thumb: Will work on some ideas for future gatherings/showoff sessions etc for here.
  • Only my first post and I managed to attend what by the looks of this thread took awhile to organize. I must say it was the best party I have been to in a long time. I was the one with the little Rosco Hand grinder, and of course the beautiful wife the hosts were really something else, "Salt of the Earth" and boy did they have the pizza nailed! Cheers! C-man
  • Welcome to the dark side. Mwahahahahah. Great to meet you and the wife. Love the grinder too :thumb: :thumb:
  • there were 2 Brizzy lads there, which one were you? I am guessing the one with the tamper stands......
  • You got it. I would have settled for the less crazy one but " the one with the tamper stands" works for me too :thumb: :D What are your plans for a machine ?
  • I am waiting for my Presso to come this week It will have to do until I have more money to speed.
  • You will be spending up big like the rest of before you know it  :D The quest for good coffee never seems to end
  • I started out by looking at a presso and hand grinder. Instead I wound up with a single boiler and Breville smart grinder. And not too much later the HX I currently have.
  • I have a Presso at work and to be honest it's not convenient in that environment but iti s beautiful and when the shots are good they are very good.  I will get around to doing a machine review and it would be great if you'd do one too C-man.  It would be great to share your journey and I know I'm not alone in wanting to hear it!
  • For those interested, here's a few photos taken at the gathering on the Sunshine Coast. If you attended the social, and you have a problem with these photos being available here please let me know and I'll take them down. photo1.jpg Above photo - Here's Kelsey in action on the lusso.  I think he enjoyed himself because I didn't get asked to take over! :)  Lacehim and RichardM watch on. photo2.jpg Everyone taking a good look at the Lusso.  Everyone was amazed at it's size! From left to right, RichardM, Lacehim, C-Man & Mrs C-Man, and AM sneeking a scone! :) photo3.jpg AM had his Cremina set up outside, Mrs C-man, Lacehim, RichardM & C-Man talk coffee. photo4.jpg RichardM, Mrs C-Man, C-Man, Derrilex, and AM now with full bellies from the woodfired oven pizza!  I've got my head in the oven, probably checking on the desert pizza "the pina colada".  Lovely the rockyroad chocky too. Not many photos taken because my official photograher (Mrs Lacehim) got far too overworked making pizza's and there was so much going on, we only got one roast done too!  If you have any photos, post them up! Lacehim
  • It was fantastic to put faces to names, even if it was only through the Ipad and someone trying to make my motion sickness kick in :stir we really are getting closer as a group :) C-man I started with the Presso, used it for almost a year before I went to a machine, it's a great little device and you will get great coffee out of it, I was using it again when the breville was in mod mode and it was so good it started me on the lever hunt again :)
  • Nice photos! you could have warned me and I would have sucked the gut in!
  • Memo to Self: Don't miss the next one!
  • Memo to Self: Don't miss the next one. Footnote: C man you're about as overweight as a rake handle: lol Nuthin to worry about.

As I usually only do 2 coffees in the morning it should be OK for that, I did want the Portapresso set-up but couldn't justify the money so I settled for the grinder and a presso just for now. I will push the Presso to it's full limits and see if I can get that good shot.  I will keep a post on it if you want.
  • you guys are funny! Should have taken a close-up of the Pizza I remember one with Tomato base, Presuido, Blue cheese, and pear slices
Classic! YUM! even a desert pizza with White chocolate, Pineapple and coconut  what a tasty blend! the coffee truly took a back seat to the Pizza.
  • I don't know what was wrong with the shots yesterday? I just did a legend shot with Lacey's MM blend today! Cut it with 50% Mexican Decaf to lower the caffeine and the combo was amazing! fruity from the Mexican and smooth and buttery from the blend. and I only have Crap equipment, except for the grinder
