After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Pinging San Marino

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Hi All!!
I have a manual San Marino Lisa 2 group and it is pinging quite loudly when I turn the groups on. Anybody have any idea what would be causing this? It sounds like it is really having a hard time.

  • There's really only 2 things that happen when you activate the group switches. a) the group solenoid valve is energised and b) the electric motor that drives the water pump is activated, and the water pump turns (if it's not seized or seizing). The sound you describe could be the water pump squeaking / squealing, which could indicate the water pump is on the way out. Watch the water pressure guage for signs of abnormal pressure indications. Otherwise, without being there to listen to the actual sound.....who knows. Sorry cant be more help but you have to be there. Regardz, FC.
