After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Just started drinking brazil Dulce roasted13th, yep yesterday. Roasted a batch of Zambia Terra Nova today. One or two more batches should have me well stocked. Might do a robusta SO.
Another roast pre blend on the KKTO This time its 200 gr of Ethiopian Gambala Naturals 200 gr of Sumatra Kuda Mas 300 gr of Costa Rica Bandola SHB E.P. KK
Had a few cornels myself last night - courtesy of some Colombian FTO. A., I returned almost a pallet of the LOLO branded Supremo Popayan recently (albeit a different bean to your Excelso) - as it appeared to have suffered heat stress at some point. To be honest, have experienced mixed results (some good, others not so) over the years from LOLO sourced Colombians.
I am roasting as I post ( the wonders on tablet computers ) After a long run with blends I have decided to go back to Single Origins Today's roast on the KKTO is 600 gr of PNG Kimel KK
Did 3 large back to back roasts An experimental blend that I hope turns out ok / as I have added some Monsooned robusta First roast comprised of 400 gr of PNG Kimel 400 gr of Costa Rica Bandola SHB E.P. Second Roast comprised of 400 gr of Ethiopian Limu 300 gr of Indian Monsooned Robusta Third roast and largest was an Indonesian / Sumatran Kuda Mas 1 kg of Sumatran Kuda Mas Did a whole KG as the roaster was hot and ready to go Once roasted and cooled, all these beans were mixed well together in a clean bucket and bagged for a 5 day degas Note - some of these beans are being gifted to a business associate so I hope my experimental roast is going to be to everyone's liking KK

That's an expensive day at the office! I roasted 500g of Kona today in the KKTO. Looks and smells great already.
Yes we do this every year at christmas. The pity will be, if the clients put it through an espresso machine or worse turn it into a lar taye, instead of infusing it or doing filter or a vac pot where they can much better appreciate the character they are paying for. But of course its their money, and they can do with it whatever they like!

Hopefully they will have the decency not to tell you if they make it into a single shot bucket of caramel frappucino with chocolate sprinkles
I once had a client bring half a packet of it back after several months, to use in a coffee appreciation class :'(
my first thought on this was that they were well suited to learn about coffee appreciation, so the course would not be wasted even if the JBM was. Now i am wondering if mycuppa ever opened that prehistoric bag of coffee found in his warehouse.
After two weeks of no roasting I gave it a red hot go last night. Brazil Cerrado Toffee Guatemala Finca Ceylan Sumatran Blue Batak Ethiopia Sidamo Korate All 250g in the hottop. Then 100g or Merthi Mountain Robusta do some experimentation. Finished up about 1am! Now for some blending.

That's a great start to a very nice & caffeinated Christmas KK
You've put me o sham Freeferty! I've just done a lovely roast of Finca El Injerto (500g) and am about to do something that takes my fancy... I don't know exactly what's down in the shed but I know they're all yummy!
I roasted a 400g batch today of: Kenyan AA Dorman To my surprise, after chewing on one of beans right after cooling was complete, I was reminded of jackfruit. Anyone roasted these beans before and tasted something similar? I did read the description and it says "...sweetness of tropical fruits, floral notes and grape, currant and wine-like characteristics..." Am I hallucinating or did I really taste some 'jackfruit' sweetness?
This week, all ready for Christmas I roasted: El Salvador Finca Alaska (a fair bit to give to neighbours for xmas gifts) Indo Wahana Estate in the coffee drawer from various roasteries: Costa Rica Finca Las Delicias (Sensory Lab) Ethiopia Harrar (Essence of Coffee, The Roastery) Panama Elida Honey (Sensory Lab) Lots of coffee sharing coming up!
