After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

    I think the fund raisers have the shoe on the wrong foot. They should be seeking the chief of apple and sundry other celebs mentioned in the artikill, who can afford that kind of dosh and will get a big tax deduction for their donation in any case, TO PAY THAT KIND OF MONEY TO SPEND HALF AN HOUR TALKING TO mere mortals like us. They should be paying to choose people they would like to spend half an hour talking to. They might for example, choose to have  cuppa with one of the waiters or waitresses who work in their company canteen, etc.  Or....their "donations" per conversation could be a lot smaller (say $5 thou per go), but they could pledge to have one conversation per week for every week of the year, with people that either work for them or provide them with some kind of service, and they would learn invaluable stuff about ordinary people, their trials, problems, satisfactions in life. It doesnt matter whioch way its done as long as the donations are made, but it would be nice for high flyers to remember where they came from. No?

    Yes... YES!!! What he said!  Although, someone said recently the the difference between a sociopath and a Multi-national CeO is a suit and a title... Perhaps the plebs would be better off unenlightened...
