Hello,

Had a big clean up on the lever, it had been a while.  Cleaned around the group, took out the shower screen, seal, water tank etc, and it all came up looking lovely, then reorganised my workstation so that my grinder is to the side.  Looks better I think. :)

Anyway do anyone of your guys with your bling machines have any tips for cleaning the stainless steel?  The top gets covered in a sticky film so you wipe it down and it looks all patchy. :( I would like to polish it up with the least amount of effort (lazy I know).

    I've heard that windex is the way to go, but haven't tested it yet on my giotto.

    I regularly (every day  :angel:) wipe mine over with a warm Chux cloth then polish it dry with a good quality microfibre cloth. Only takes a minute and she's sparkling. Admittedly, the Strega is just a few weeks old, but it worked on the Minore III a treat. It must work, as I sold the Minore 3rd hand 2 years after I purchased it 2nd hand, for just a $200 loss.  8) I never use any abrasive so-called stainless steel metal polishes! Kevo

    Windex and microfiber cloths are my faithful friends for all things shiny, from Coffee-machine Bling  to granite bench tops, even windows  >:D >:D >:D ;) L

    There are many grades of micro-fibre cloths Some are good for general purpose and specialty ones for glass First things first You need to polish your machine to protect it with a metal or final finish car polish Once protected then regular cleaning with a glass microfibre cloth and a glass cleaner is all that's required  (the cloth must be slightly damp to work properly ) I find the White Magic brand cloth set to work best On most occasions just a damp cloth is all that's needed to keep your machine in pristine condition And that's about it KK

    ditto to all of the above -I use a clean chux, new and unused each time, and /or a paper towel with a dab of water - and undiluted glass cleaner for any smear marks that wont come off with a quick rub some have even accused me of spending more time polishing my Mirage than making coffee! I even pulled a staff member aside on the weekend and said - think of this machine like a new car: coz that's how much it cost to buy! you wouldnt clean your new car with a dirty cloth so make sure you treat my baby with similar respect! P

    Thanks guys.  I do have a microfibre cloth, but I might try KKs brand, see if that's better.
